It's hard to believe that Annelisa's first year is almost complete! I am standing back and marveling so often about how much she's grown, we've grown, and praising God for all that He has done in our lives over the last year.
At eleven months, Annelisa:
- is nursing 3 to 4 times a day.
- is drinking water from a sippy cup with her solid meals.
- is eating solids consistently at lunch and dinner.
- has tried and mostly liked these new foods:
- turkey
- chicken
- meatballs (didn't really like!)
- whole wheat Ritz crackers
- roasted squash cut into chunks
- roasted sweet potato mushed by mom
- cooked carrots-cut into fourths from moons out of chicken noodle soup
- kiwi--likes when pureed with banana, not when diced small!
- string cheese
- is wearing size 4 diapers (Pampers Baby Dry).
- is wearing mostly 12 month size clothes and pj's.
- is still wearing a size 2 shoe! That's a 3-6 month size!! She has crazy little, cute feet! :)
- is sleeping 12 to 13 hours most nights.
- is napping twice a day, about 9:30 to 10:00 AM for an hour and half and around 2:00 PM for an hour and a half each day (some days more than others).
- continues to love her bath! She has graduated out of her baby tub to the big girl tub! She loves moving around and splashing!
- is pointing with her index finger at objects, people, items she wants, things she wants to see, etc.
- is army crawling as of Wednesday, February 6, 2013.
- is crawling on all fours as of Thursday, February 21, 2013.
- is pushing herself into the sitting position as of Friday, February 22, 2013.
- continues to rock on all fours.
- is waving to say "hello" and "bye bye" with lots of practice at Farley.
- has learned how to "crash" a tower and she closes her eyes each time she knocks one down.
- is not crying when she falls onto her belly when reaching for a toy.
- is clapping!
- is a lover of music! She claps during hymn time at Bible Study Fellowship (BSF), "sings" along in the car, and smiles from ear to ear when she causes a toy to sing it's song.
- still sucks her thumb for comfort whether to go to sleep or due to teething.
- has two bottom teeth and her top left tooth has emerged!
- is reaching to be picked up.
- loves to smile.
- loves the tickle monster! And the tickle monster LOVES her giggle!
- loves to observe her toys! She will study them again and again, figuring out how they work. She is not easily bored!
- loves the following toys:
- Stacking rings
- Puzzle boxes
- Stacking cups
- board books, especially The Very Hungry Caterpillar
- blocks with toys inside
- snail stacking ring bath toy
- crab bath toy
- little lamb-her crib friend
- plus lots of others!
- saw Dr. Stager, Jr. on Monday, February 11, 2013, for another exam of her eyes and has now progressed to seeing him every three months! Praise God for His healing power and provision in helping Annelisa to see and do so well post surgery!
- has had her first ear infection, diagnosed on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. This caused major disruptions to her sleep and eating schedules. She was vomiting at almost every solids meal daily due to drainage and a super sensitive gag reflex. Needless to say, mom and dad have gotten really good at cleaning up vomit and her high chair is one of the cleanest in the county, if not the state!
- celebrated her first Valentines Day! (More on that here!)
- sent out her first birthday invitations to family and a couple of friends.
- visited Grammy, GP, Auntie Erin, and Auntie Lauren with Mommy and Farley in Houston while Daddy studied.
