Buckets of Insight: Annelisa is 9 Months!

Nine months old! I've been marveling at how much our little lady Annelisa has changed, grown, and developed a lot of late! She's been out in the world longer than she was growing in my womb, and it startles me...it makes me realize how fast the weeks and months are going by. I've caught myself beginning to think about her first birthday party...and even have blocked out the day it will be on the calendar (March 23rd...in case you were curious).

At nine months old, Annelisa:

is nursing four times a day.
is eating purees and puffs one to two times a day.
loves the following food combinations:

mangoes
bananas
banana and plums
mangoes, pears, and spinach
pear, peas, and broccoli
apples and sweet potatoes
apples and carrots
pear and butternut squash
pears and peas
all the varieties of puffs

is wearing size three diapers (Pampers Baby Dry).
began wearing overnight size three diapers. (Let's just say she proved them necessary!)
is wearing mostly nine month size clothing, with some small 12 month size items in the mix. I'm sad to say that all the 6-9 month size things are too small.
is wearing a mix of big 9 month and 12 month size pajamas.
has her first cold...it's been pretty miserable for about two weeks. She spiked her first fever today. She's flushed and feeling pretty awful.
is sleeping 11-13 hours a night with at least one waking to feed for the last couple of weeks. The waking is a new thing...I'm fairly certain it has to do with the onset of this cold and her desire to know I'm near by.
is napping twice a day. Typically, around 9:30 and 1:30 for an hour and fifteen minutes to two hours each.
dropped her third nap during this month making the late afternoon and dinner hour difficult some days!
LOVES her bath!
has started rocking on her knees.
is really moving well on all fours, backwards...she's seems anxious to go forward...it's only a matter of time!
is occasionally rolling from tummy to back. She consistently rolls from back to tummy.
loves to bounce and stand up.
is raising her arms to prepare to be picked up.
shows lots of excitement!
loves to play with you!
is curious about how toys work and she will investigate them thoroughly.
is babbling, singing, and having conversations ALL the time!
is tremendously happy! Smiles at everyone, especially post surgery!
moved into her convertible car seat.
had eye muscle surgery for exotropia. (More on that here.)
is much more confident physically now that she can see.
is grabbing and reaching for everything, like a normal baby...which she wasn't doing as much of pre-surgery.
smiles brighter and loves to watch us!
has cut two teeth! Both center bottom teeth have made their debut...and with them some bites at mom, but that quickly subsided with some quick behavior correction.
still sucks her thumb for comfort and her left one is her favorite.

celebrated Mommy's 29th birthday on the 8th.
watched her daddy and Pops run the Dallas Half Marathon on December 9th.
her Aggies are 10-2, going to the Cotton Bowl with Johnny Heisman! Whoop! Her lucky onesie will make it's final appearance on January 4th...although it won't be long enough to snap!
